‘Common Platform of Public Associations’ Demonstration Against the Massacres in Dandakaranya

A demonstration was held in Secunderabad on Monday 15 December to protest against the ongoing massacre of tribals, CPI (Maoist) leaders and activists in the name of the Operation Kagar, in order to hand over the mineral wealth in Dandakaranya to the big corporations.

In the statement released by the joint platform, they state that nearly 100 associations participated in the demonstration. They denounce that the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, should be removed, and that “setting dates saying surrender or die is a violation of the right to life” and that he should be arrested, tried and punished. Genocide carried out against Adivasi was protested.

“The oppression taking place in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Northeastern states and Kashmir is only to increase the wealth of the imperialists. The speakers condemned the conspiracies to give away the mineral wealth of India to corporate companies like Vedant, Jindal, SR, Mittal, De Beer, Adani and Ambani.” they add. They also demand that to stop the Operation Kagar and the armed police forces in the forests be brought back and make a call to democrats and the people of the country to intensify the agitation until Union Home Minister Amit Shah, “who is acting as a dictator by mocking the Constitution” is ousted.
