AGEB: NO TO US ATTACKS IN VENEZUELA, NO TO JIHADIST BARBARISM IN SYRIA!

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement issued by the Union of Migrant Workers in Europe (AGEB).

The attacks by imperialists and their lackeys against oppressed peoples continue in the final days of the year. US imperialism launched an attack on Venezuela on December 29, 2025. This policy, which had been pursued for some time through threats and de facto siege, has now been transformed into open aggression.

Although these attacks are disguised under false pretenses such as “war against drugs,” “security,” or “democracy,” the truth is clear: the aim is to subjugate Venezuela, plunder its natural resources, and re-establish imperialist domination in Latin America.

Again in December 2024, the HTS-Jolani murderous network, which established dominance in Syria with the open support of US-British imperialism and Turkey, and with the permission granted by Zionist Israel, continues its attacks against Alawites and Kurds. Alawites in Latakia and Homs are under threat of a new massacre. This murderous network also carried out attacks on Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo during the same period. Jolani and his gang, acting with support from the US, are pursuing their hostility towards Alawites through massacres. Since December 2024, thousands of Alawites have been subjected to mass murders. Jolani, proving himself a servant of imperialism, is taking an even more aggressive stance in Syria, threatening Kurds and massacring Alawites. It is clear that these attacks cannot be evaluated independently of US-British imperialism and Türkiye.

The bombs, blockades, and sanctions of imperialists and their lackeys do not bring freedom to the people. They only serve to further impoverish the working class, condemn children to starvation, and forcibly suppress the will of the people. Every military and economic move by the US against Venezuela, the massacre of Alawites by the reactionary al-Jolani in Syria, and the threats against the Kurds are crimes against the people.

We unequivocally condemn US imperialism and its domestic and foreign collaborators. Venezuela’s fate cannot be determined at the tables of the Pentagon, multinational oil monopolies, or imperialist alliances. No foreign power can dictate how the Venezuelan people should live. The imperialists’ approach in Syria, aimed at consolidating the leadership of al-Jolani and disregarding oppressed nations and faiths, is a product of their calculations to drag the entire region into a bloody war.

Our position is clear: We will not give way to imperialist aggression, their dirty plans, or the reactionary forces that serve them.

The solution lies in the independent, organized, and revolutionary struggle of the Venezuelan working class, impoverished peasants, and working people. The solution lies in the organized anti-imperialist struggle for liberation waged by people of various nationalities and faiths in Syria, and in the development of the revolutionary struggle against reaction. True liberation will only be possible through class struggle, the expansion of democratic rights, and the construction of a revolutionary path forward.

US imperialism, get out of Venezuela!
No to imperialist plans and jihadist reactionaries in Syria!
No to blockades, bombs, and occupations!
Long live international solidarity!
