Several statements have been issued against the Yankee imperialist aggression on Venezuela. We hereby share some excerpts from some of them.

The Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) from India has issued a statement, in which they “unequivocally condemn the U.S attack” as “an act of imperialist intervention”. The RSF unmask the goals of Yankee imperialism and its lackeys in Venezuela which seek “the privatisation of Venezuelan resources and the reopening of the country to imperialist plunder.” They condemn also that “The excuses advanced by the United States, including claims of an “anti-narcotics campaign” or the “restoration of democracy,” follow a familiar pattern. Claims such as “War on Drugs” and “War on Terror” have been repeatedly used to legitimize interventions in Iraq, Cuba, Iran, Afghanistan, and across Latin America. In practice, such interventions have resulted in devastating wars, long-term political instability, coups, and the consolidation of imperialist interests at the cost of millions of lives. In Venezuela, U.S. economic sanctions alone have already produced severe humanitarian consequences, and further military action will only deepen this crisis.

They end affirming their “solidarity with the Venezuelan people in their struggle against imperialist aggression. We reiterate that U.S. imperialism remains the main enemy of the common masses globally. At the same time, alignment with any rival imperialist bloc cannot bring liberation. The emancipation of the Venezuelan people can only be achieved through protracted people’s war against feudalism, comprador bureaucratic capitalism and imperialism. Opposing U.S. aggression against Venezuela is an essential task for all progressive, democratic, and leftist forces fighting against imperialism.

The full statement can be read below:

The Editorial Board of Die Rote Fahne from Austria has also issued a statement, condemning the attack as “state terrorism and bare reaction”. But they state clearly that this criminal aggression will have consequences: “The masses of Palestine stand alongside Latin America, as do all the peoples and nations of the earth who are fighting for their self-determination and national freedom. The revolutionary forces of the socialist revolution stand alongside Latin America, and all anti-imperialists stand alongside Latin America. The aggression of US imperialism must not go unchallenged. Numerous actions will also take place immediately in Europe. The anti-imperialist forces will march forward and will continue to unite with all those who reject the numerous crimes of US imperialism and shout loudly:

Yankee go home!

Hands off Venezuela!

Latin America for the Latin Americans!

Down with US imperialism and all its lackeys!

Kommunisten from Sweden has shared a statement from the Communist League, which points out that:

“The plan of Yankee-imperialism, the so-called “new defence structure of the Western Hemisphere”, and the military deployment of the troops of Yankee-imperialism serves to defend its status as the sole hegemonic superpower in the world. As Latin America, its back yard, is the strategic base for its global hegemony, Yankee-imperialism is aiming directly for, as its big police, development of the new-democratic revolutions on the continent.

The Attack on Venezuela is a further milestone in the US strategy against China as well as in their strategy to defend its position as the worlds only hegemonic superpower through securing its back yard. We know that the material laws compel the US to attempt an encirclement of China to secure its positions within a new imperialist war of redistribution – the third world war. They have shifted the costs of the war in Ukraine onto the European states and hope that they can leave Russia to their lackeys while using their vassal state Israel to kick around the Middle East. This is in order to be able to focus on consolidating their positions in Latin America and securing assets and necessary logistics for a future conflict. Its strategy in the region is to create an axis from Canada in the north to Argentina in the south in order to exercise control. It then works from its own core and downwards, from Central to South America.”

The Revolutionary Student-Youth Movement (RSYM) from Bangladesh has shared a statement issued by the New Democratic People’s Forum. The latter condemns and protest the attack carried out by Yankee imperialism and the abduction of Nicolás Maduro and his wife. They condemn the actions of the different imperialist powers, as “imperialist powers across the world have, since the beginning of this century, become embroiled in wars centered on expanding domination in different countries. In some countries, U.S. or Russian imperialism has carried out and continues to carry out aggression unilaterally.”

They also unmask the excuses argued by US imperialism to carry out its aggresions against the peoples of the world by stating that “As justification for the attack on mineral-rich Venezuela, U.S. imperialists are speaking of “restoring democracy” in the country. In the same way that in the past they have carried out military-civilian coups or direct aggression in many countries of the world, in the name of establishing so-called “democracy,” and have imposed intensified exploitation, repression, and oppression on the people of those countries, they are going to repeat the same thing in Venezuela as well.
