Mexico: Weekly Newsletter
We hereby share an unofficial translation of an excerpt on Mexico of the Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo.
And as we mentioned earlier, Donald Trump’s arch-reactionary government has Claudia Sheinbaum’s lackey government well and truly figured out. We saw that after his phone call on January 12, Sheinbaum became even more subordinate, handing over to her master a whole security report that he immediately dismissed through Marco Rubio, the fascist US Secretary of State, who retorted by saying “Mexico is not doing what is necessary,” once again threatening military intervention. Immediately afterwards, on January 16, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a flight warning to all US airlines flying through Mexican and Central American airspace, due to possible “risks” from US military activities… “there are potential risks to aircraft at all altitudes, including during overflight and during the arrival and departure phases of the flight.
A day later, a new event shook the country: the arrival of the US Army’s C-130J Super Hercules at Toluca airport; an event that at first no representative of the regime wanted to explain, and in the end it fell to Sheinbuam herself to address it in a confusing manner, saying, among other things, that it was… “an authorization that was given in October last year and had to do with a training matter […] it should not have been consulted […] they have entered on other occasions. The difference is that now they entered the plane from Toluca.”
To make matters worse, the US government has continued to provoke Mexico, and on January 21, a US Department of Justice plane landed at Mexico City International Airport (AICM) while US military drones were reported in Quintana Roo and Campeche, respectively. These were the MQ-4C Triton and BLKCAT5 unmanned aircraft, specialized in military intelligence tasks.
Sheinbaum’s response? The extradition of another 37 drug lords detained in Mexico and wanted by the US Department of Justice. A decision that the female president considers “sovereign.” The course of events is raising an interesting (and equally intolerable) situation regarding the threat of military intervention in our country.

The immediate scenario is not foreign troops violently entering the national territory, but rather a military occupation meekly accepted by the Mexican state, disguised as “collaboration,” where the gringos will do as they please and when they please, using the Mexican army, navy, and national guard as a shock troop in their operations. A scenario very similar to that of post-war Europe, where the Yankees left their military bases, which remain active and operating to this day as occupation troop bases. The workers and peoples of Mexico urgently need to organize and build a powerful anti-imperialist movement that fights for the self-determination of our people and national liberation.
Down with the old State and its country-seller parties!
Yankees go home!
