On May 12, 2026, 14 anti-imperialist activists were arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, during a protest against the Macron-Ruto meeting. For their opposition to Franco-African relations and imperialism, these activists were imprisoned in government jails. Five other activists, who were arrested yesterday, have been tried and face prison sentences.

Several organizations condemns the arrests in a joint call, including International League of People’s Struggle – France (ILPS), Anti-imperialist League – France (AIL), the Communist Youth, FSE, and many others.
Among those arrested is Guylhem, an activist from France who is in need of medical care, and the detention puts his life at risk.
A rally has been called by ILPS and OST on May 13th at 18:30 at Place de la Bastille in Paris.
