Turkey: Communication Bans were Imposed on the Prisoners from Mobilizations Against NATO

Communication bans were imposed on the revolutionaries detained and arrested in Ankara as part of the operations against anti-NATO protesters for chanting anti-NATO slogans in prison.
An investigation has been launched against prisoners in Sincan Women’s Closed Prison for chanting slogans such as “Murderer NATO, Get Out of the Middle East” and “Imperialism Will Be Defeated, Resisting Peoples Will Win.” The prisoners defended themselves, stating that they are NATO prisoners and that struggling against NATO is not a crime.
The communication bans imposed on the imprisoned Partizan readers Rümeysa Ay and Yaren Şeker were justified by the slogan “Down with NATO, Long Live the People’s War” and the use of the name of the communist leader İbrahim Kaypakkaya in their agitation.
It has been reported that the prisoners have appealed the sentences.
