We hereby share an unofficial translation of the part on Mexico from the latest Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo on August 17.

Take a close look at the Mexican State’s priorities: blacklists targeting the media, commentators, and political pundits; the defense of the nefarious Andy López Beltrán (AMLO’s son), whose visa was revoked by the Yankee government; infighting within Morena ahead of the 2027 midterm elections, in which 17 governors, 500 federal deputies, local representatives, and municipal presidents will be elected.

At the same time, don’t overlook the conflicts in various regions of the country caused by the imposition of megaprojects that bring dispossession and death: Topolobampo, Sinaloa (an ammonia plant operated by the German firm GPO in Ohuira Bay); Playa Las Cocinas, Nayarit (the Montage luxury resort and hotel complex); San José Chiapa, Puebla (the imposition of a deadly mega-landfill); the Southern Sierra of Oaxaca (the imposition of the “Mujer Solteca” dam); and the Central Valleys of Oaxaca (the imposition of the “Zapotec Vial Corridor”). Don’t forget the conflicts caused by other “more famous” megaprojects such as the Morelos Integral Project, the “Maya” Train, the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT), wind farms, gas pipelines, superhighways, mining, etc.

Now take a close look at the state of war in Mexico: militarization, paramilitarism, organized crime, the balkanization of the national territory; interference and threats of US military intervention. Along with this, consider the official figures of this barbarity: more than 600,000 people murdered and more than 135,000 people missing; an ever-increasing number of unidentified bodies and mass graves throughout the country.

Finally, keep in mind your economic, employment, social, community, educational, and health situations, among others. Look at your loved ones and ask yourself if you have ever been able to provide them with everything they need to live a dignified life, in peace and with freedom.

The reality of our country is calling on the working class and the people to understand that the governments of the self-proclaimed “fourth transformation,” just like the PRI and PAN governments before them, are exactly the same: the board that manages the common interests of the big bourgeoisie and the big landlords in power.

For this reason, it is essential to build class consciousness, organize, and to struggle against the old State, its Parties, its institutions, its anti-popular policies, its economic plans, its tyranny, and its repression.

Down with the old State and all its Parties!

Against the imperialist megaprojects of plunder and death – combat and resist !

Stop the war against the people and State terrorism!
