Around 200 people gathered in Tingbjerg on September 27, 2026, to demonstrate against police violence, Roede Fane reported. Organized by Crisis Mirror together with local groups and activists, the event followed the August shooting of a 22-year-old man, who was hit in the back by five police bullets while attempting to flee. We have also reported on this and the earlier protests it has ignited:
Speakers – including residents, relatives of the injured man, and representatives from Aktiv for Palæstina, Antifascistisk Aktion, and Anti-imperialist Aktion – addressed police harassment, discrimination, and the stigmatization of Tingbjerg’s residents. Anti-imperialist Aktion also criticized media monopolies’ downplaying the police crimes and highlighted how Tingbjerg is being demonized to, among other things, justify “transforming” the neighborhood by demolishing apartments for disabled people, paving over green areas and playgrounds, and building new and expensive houses.
The demonstration emphasized the importance of organizing locally against police abuse, displacement, and discrimination. It ended as a strong expression of solidarity, signaling that oppression is not met without resistance
