Germany – Dem Volke Dienen: China’s Youth Turn to Chairman Mao

We hereby share an unofficial translation of an article published by Dem Volke Dienen on October 15.

The New Newspaper of Zurich recently published a report in which they interview young adults in China. After they had passed the exam for university admission, they talk about the perspective they now have with it: “I am not sure that I will find a job after my studies.” Even if they would, the interviewed stated: “I will not earn a lot at first.”

With the growing crisis, also on an economic level, this experience is not an uncommon one. While the number of college graduates has increased, with 12,7 million this year – 4% more than last – with youth unemployment also growing at the same pace. In August it reached a new high of 20%. It shows that China’s youth has no perspective within this system.

For these young adults it is clear what waits for them in this exploitative system, but the interviewed also has clear words about Chairman Mao: “I love Mao Tse-tung, as he was the great Chairman and founding father of our country.”

This tendency within the youth of China was also recently confirmed on the 50th anniversary of the death of Chairman Mao Tse-tung, in which hundreds of students in the birthplace of the Chairman insisted continuing the path of Chairman Mao and to overthrow the revisionists.

They shouted slogans like “Long live the working class, continue the legacy of Chairman Mao and see the Revolution through to its end!” and held up flags with “The later years of Chairman Mao are the most brilliant and correct chapter of Marxism-Leninism” written on it, which the police of the revisionists tried to rip out of their hands.
