Turkey: “There is no room for prosecution” – decision in the May 18 investigation
We hereby share an unofficial translation a note published by Yeni Demokrasi on a repressive case.
In the investigation launched against Partizan readers who were detained on May 18, a decision was made that “there is no room for prosecution”.
An investigation had been launched against 3 Partizan readers who were detained at their homes on May 18, 2024, the 51st anniversary of the murder of the communist leader İbrahim Kaypakkaya. The investigation initiated on the grounds of the May 18 activities has concluded.
The Partizan readers were investigated for “propagandizing for a terrorist organization”.
