Israeli aggression on Iran

The State of Israel has carried out a new criminal aggression against a sovereign State in Middle East, this time has been on Iran. Israeli military targeted at least 20 different places, including several military bases in the provinces of Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran, according to Iranian reports. Iran has acknowledged that so far two of its soldiers have been killed by those attacks. Israeli military stated they conducted airstrikes on missile production facilities. “In response to the months-long, continuous attacks by the Iranian regime on the state of Israel, the Israeli forces are currently conducting targeted strikes on military targets in Iran.”, Israeli military told.

The attack involved a hundred of fighter jets and hundreds of aircraft and missiles. This attack follows a series of attacks during the escalation in the criminal regional war being carried out by Israel, backed mainly by US imperialism against the peoples of the Middle East. Iran faced one of those attacks on 1st of April, when Israel conducted a strike on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, killing 13 people, including two Iranian military commanders. As the diplomatic facilities of Iran are considered Iranian territory, and it was a place with diplomatic immunity, this also constituted a criminal aggression.

Iran has reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps bases have not been targeted, which was an objective of the Israeli attack. Also has reported that it has thwarted most of the intentions and attacks by Israel. After few hours the air traffic was restored and normalcy returned to the Iranian capital.

The reaction by US imperialism has been again cynical, hypocritical and criminal. Palestine Chronicle reports that “A Pentagon official told Al Jazeera that there was no change in the deployment of US forces in the region, and that the F-16 fighter squadron that arrived in the area ‘comes in the context of protecting our forces and defending Israel’.” US National Security Council spokesman Sean Savet urged Iran “to cease its attacks on Israel so that this cycle of fighting can end without further escalation”. Then he continued by stating that “Their response was an exercise in self-defense and specifically avoided populated areas and focused solely on military targets, contrary to Iran’s attack against Israel that targeted Israel’s most populous city”.

British imperialism representative, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that I am clear that Israel has the right to defend itself against Iranian aggression. I’m equally clear that we need to avoid further regional escalation and urge all sides to show restraint. Iran should not respond”.

While they are making such astonishing statements, the State of Israel – which does not seem to be raising the “concerns” of the imperialists regarding the escalation and the war in the region- is targeting Damascus, Syria, another sovereign State. The actions are communicated in advance with the Yankees. In contrast, the role of Yankee imperialism is obscured, as it can now present itself as a mediator, although it is the main aggressor. But its role is very clear, as Nuevo Perú has written:

“Yankee imperialism and the Zionist State of Israel, in their war of aggression against the oppressed nations of the Greater Middle East, have unleashed a more horrendous genocide than usual against the masses, mainly in Palestine, from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and Lebanon. They have extended their crimes and military attacks against Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other countries of the Greater Middle East, targeting Iran to establish ‘a new order in the Middle East’ according to the Zionist head, Benjamin Netanyahu, that is, to impose the ‘pax americana’ of the sole hegemonic power, Yankee imperialism, which in the light of history and reality in that region is impossible because the oppressed nations are up in a powerful and invincible war of national resistance against imperialism and Zionism.”
