India: RSF Condemns the Arrest of Priyanshu Kashyap

We hereby share a statement published by the Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF).

We, the Revolutionary Students’ Front, unequivocally condemn the arrest of Priyanshu Kashyap, a people’s activist from Bastar and former student of Delhi University, by the Gestapo-like National Investigation Agency (NIA) on July 29, 2025. This arrest, following his illegal detention by Haryana’s CIA around July 26–27, is part of a broader crackdown aimed at silencing the voices of those who dare to question and resist the Brahminical fascist RSS-BJP regime. Just a couple of days ago, activists associated with BSCEM, FACAM and the Nazariya magazine were also illegally arrested and were subjected to inhuman custodial torture by the Delhi Police.

Priyanshu’s record of unwavering commitment to students, workers, peasants, Adivasis, Dalits, women, and religious minorities is well known. At Delhi University, he organised against fee hikes, paper leaks, and privatisation of education. He spoke out against the state-sponsored genocide of indigenous people in Central India and the exploitation of the natural resources in the hands of the agents of imperialists. Despite qualifying for the JRF, he chose to work directly with the working class, organising with the Delhi General Mazdoor Front. It is this principled stand with the oppressed that has now made him a target of the state. The so-called “Lucknow Conspiracy Case” is a fabricated and politically motivated witch-hunt, much like the Bhima Koregaon conspiracy, where democratic activists across the country were branded as “urban naxals,” falsely implicated, and jailed without trial. Similarly, this new case is being used to target activists across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. By labelling them “overground workers” of CPI (Maoist), the state attempts to legitimise surveillance, raids, arrests, and long-term incarceration without evidence or trial.

This is nothing but an open declaration of war against students and the masses who refuse to stay silent. The Brahminical fascist BJP-RSS regime is not merely curbing dissent, it is criminalising resistance itself. The arrests under this case are just one front of the larger fascist offensive, embodied in schemes like the Surajkund Scheme, designed to dismantle all democratic spaces and clear the path for corporate loot and imperialist exploitation. Whether in the forests of Central India or the streets of Delhi, the state is deploying every weapon in its arsenal – legal, military, psychological – to crush resistance. We are witnessing the complete collapse of even the illusion of “law and order.” The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, introduced under the garb of judicial reform, is now a blunt instrument of repression. But neither British colonialism, nor the fascist Congress rule, nor today’s Brahminical fascism has ever been able to break the fighting spirit of India’s revolutionary masses. And it never will.

We demand :

1. Immediate and unconditional release of Priyanshu Kashyap and all others falsely implicated under the Lucknow Conspiracy Case.

2. An end to the harassment, raids, arrests and surveillance of students, labour, and human rights activists.

3. Scrapping of the UAPA.

4. Repeal of the Surajkund Scheme and other fascist blueprints of repression.

We call upon all the democratic, progressive individuals and organisations to come forward and unitedly build a militant mass resistance against the fascist regime’s intensifying crackdown on dissenting voices.
