Ecuador: LET’S ORGANIZE DAYS OF STRUGGLE TO DEFEAT NOBOA AND IMPERIALISM IN THE STREETS AND IN THE COUNTRYSIDE!

The Defense Front of the People’s Struggles in Ecuador (FDLP) has published a report on the resistance day carried out in Quito on June 9th, where labor unions, popular, peasant, and student organizations, retail merchants, and other sectors gathered in front of the National Assembly to denounce the situation of the broad masses of the people.

During the assembly, a manifesto was presented that outlines the demands of the broad masses, emphasizing that if these demands are not met, it will be the State that “ends up determining the course, content, and nature of future mobilizations,”.

The military and police personnel present attempted to prevent the event from taking place by cordoning off the area where it was to be held and restricting the activists’ freedom of movement. However, they did not achieve their objective.

The report extends its greetings to the representatives of the anti-mining and anti-imperialist struggle in the Las Naves canton, who clearly expressed the miners’ rejection of the presence of mining companies. Also present were labor leaders from the Municipality of Quito, representatives of the FETSAPI, peasant leaders, and delegates from various popular sectors. Organizations in the health sector denounced their situation and demanded “the urgent need for the government to effectively address the national health system.”

In the statement by the Anti-Imperialist Front of Ecuador, the criminalization of the popular struggle and political repression were highlighted, with particular emphasis on the case of political prisoner Omar Campoverde and the call for the release of political prisoners.

While these militant demonstrations were taking place, organizations such as CONAIE, Ecuarunari, and even Noboa’s former vice president, Verónica Abad – who continue to follow “the big landlord, bureaucratic and electoral” Path – turned to the National Electoral Council in an “opportunistic and circus-like” spectacle to request Noboa’s removal from office.

In report it is said: “The presence of these sectors, under the organizational umbrella of the Anti-Imperialist Front of Ecuador, reflects an increasingly clear understanding of the need to redouble our efforts, deepen class unity, and strengthen the strategic alliance between workers and peasants; to intensify the popular struggle against a regime that shifts the burden of the crisis onto the backs of the country’s workers, peasants, and other exploited sectors.

These days of rebellion and struggle have become the only path before us to combat this fascist regime; that is to say, we must follow the democratic, conscious, and combative path of the working class, the people, and the poor peasantry. A path that does not end with economic demands, but rather transcends them, politicizes them, and elevates them toward a proposal for the radical transformation of the old society. […]”

“A clear and irreconcilable dividing line has been drawn between the democratic path, promoted by the Anti-Imperialist Front of Ecuador, and the bureaucratic path, promoted by electoral opportunists. We, the former, seek the revolutionary transformation of the old society; the others—the bureaucrats—merely seek to rearrange, reform, and reconstitute the old bureaucratic-big landlord State, dragging the masses into the false illusion of elections.

The struggle is waged by fighting, not by compromising with the forms, methods, and limits imposed by the old State. Therefore, we must prepare for a great national day of popular struggle that will unmask Noboa’s pro-imperialist regime, confront its’ anti-popular policies, and pave the way for the profound transformation of this old society.

YANKEES: GO HOME!

LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE OF THE PEOPLES WHO FIGHT AGAINST IMPERIALISM!

LET’S PREPARE FOR THE PEASANT-POPULAR UPRISING!”
