Sol Rojo Mexico – Weekly Newsletter on Bolivia

We hereby share an unofficial translation of the part on Bolivia from the latest Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo on the 22nd of June.

After 50 days, the general strike that shook the country has been betrayed by the leadership of the Bolivian Workers’ Center (COB), who in recent days presented an 8-point plan agreeing to engage in dialogue with the old State.

This Friday, June 19th, the opportunists at the helm of the COB finally sat down with the fascist regime, agreeing to demobilize without being able to guarantee it. Rodrigo Paz himself (whose resignation is demanded by the Bolivian people) signed the agreement with the scoundrel Mario Argollo, sparking immediate rejection from the peasant, indigenous, student, and popular movements, which remain mobilized despite the betrayal. Following the signing of the agreement, the fascist regime declared a state of emergency throughout the country, mobilizing the army and police to clear the roads and roadblocks, that until a week ago had the State on the ropes.

According to Bandera Roja Bolivia, some roadblocks are still being reported today, and calls for acts of resistance are being issued by organizations such as the United Trade Union Federation of Peasant Workers of the Omasuyos Province “Ponchos Rojos” and the United Departmental Federation of Peasant Workers of La Paz “Túpac Katari,” among others.

Down with the traitors and capitulators! Long live the Bolivian people in resistance!
