The asset had been warned multiple times, but continued to report on the activity of the NPA in his Barangay, and was frequently seen accompanying the armed forces in raids.

On October 17, the same NPA Command carried out a harassment operation against the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) and the 94th Infantry Batallion (IB) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. After an ambush, the three minute operation left three soldiers wounded, Ang Bayan reports.
