Mobilizations for Women’s Liberation in India and Colombia

In Delhi, India, Bhagat Singh Student Union Platform (bsCEM) reports of a demonstration of hundreds of students and progressive organizations, of which bsCEM also was part, raising the call against sexual violence and for a radical transformation of society, and calling for women to actively join the struggle in smashing patriarchy.

bsCEM also published a statement, where they condemn sexual violence and assert solidarity with protesting students, raising the slogans “Women hold up half the sky!”, “Smash Patriarchy!”, “Smash Feudalism! Smash Imperialism!”
At the end of September, mobilizations at the Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab, broke out in reaction to reports of a rape committed in the women’s dormitory. On September 29, Revolutionary Student’s Front (RSF) published a statement in solidarity with the protesting students, who were attacked by BJP-RSS fascist goons, who ran vehicles through the mobilizations and lit fires in and around the women’s hostel.
In Colombia, mobilizations were carried out on September 29, honoring the International Day for Legal and Secure Access to Abortion. In a post on the Instagram account of Nueva Democracia the following slogans are raised:
“For legal, safe, and free abortions!”
“In the streets defending the rights of working-class women!”
