Turkey – YDG: Forum on the Rebellion of the Youth Held in Istanbul

As Yeni Demokrasi has reported, the New Democratic Youth (YDG) has held a meeting in the university of Instanbul under the slogan “Embrace Courage, Spread Rebellion!”. The call for the event reads:

“From France to India, from Albania to Tunisia: Youth are taking to the streets all over the world! We are coming together to discuss the rising uprisings against unjust wars, poverty, and substandard education, and to expand our struggle.”

The event began with a moment of silence in memory of those who gave their lives in the revolutionary struggle. Afterwards the situation in the world and Turkey were analyzed, with a focus on the ongoing struggles by the youth around the world.

Among the international greetings to the meeting Jeunesse Communiste from France sent a message, that is quoted as follows:

“Jeunesse Communiste has worked actively to mobilize, politicize, and organize the youth fighting across the country. Our red flag has flown at numerous barricades and in ever-growing marches. As revolutionaries, our task is to emphasize the necessity of the socialist Revolution, the only solution for the masses’ liberation from capitalist exploitation and oppression. Furthermore, we are fighting against all forms of opportunism, particularly social democracy, which seeks to confine the struggle within certain limits for the sake of electoral calculations. Our political line toward the youth is clear: We are the sons and daughters of the Paris Commune. We will bring it back to life across France!”
