Spanish State – Servir al Pueblo: Workers Attack Headquarters of Yellow Union
We hereby share an unofficial translation of an article published by Servir al Pueblo on November 6.
Valencia – Workers Vandalize and Shut Down FETICO Headquarters
We received an image with a message via email at Servir al Pueblo. The image shows the FETICO headquarters (the pro-business “yellow union” in the retail industry) vandalized, with the word “traïdors” (traitors) and a hammer and sickle. This action was “a humble act of proletarian justice” carried out by a group of “workers in struggle and in support of the general strike on November 11.” In addition to the graffiti, according to the message, the door was sabotaged by pouring silicone into it to prevent its use (this is a typical method used by strikers to force the closure of offices and businesses, or at least to delay their opening). In the message, the workers warn that “there will be no peace for the traitors to the class.”
The message was received in Valencian. Although brief, we are sharing it in its entirety below:
To our revolutionary comrades and class-based unions.
Yesterday, a humble act of proletarian justice was carried out. The headquarters of the employers’ union FETICO – those damned traitors to the workers – has been sealed with silicone, and its propaganda mural replaced with the hammer and sickle, the symbol of the international proletariat.
We ask honest revolutionaries like you to spread the word about this action. There will be no peace for the traitors to the working class!!!
Signed: Workers in struggle and in support of the general strike on November 11. VALENCIA
