AND Editorial – At every step, bigger crossroads for imperialism
Hereby we publish an unofficial translation of the last Editorial from A Nova Democracia.
Newest proofs that the World Proletarian Revolution is the main historical and political trend.
The physical elimination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Political Bureau of Hamas party, who has led the patriotic anti-imperialist struggle for the liberation of Palestine, is a sign of the failure of the Nazi-Zionist State of Israel and its master, Yankee imperialism. The operation, using a guided missile, targeted the Palestinian leader during an official visit to Tehran, who attended the invitation of the Iranian government for the inauguration of the country’s new president.
The operation, officially not claimed by anyone, can only have two promoters: the Zionist government and the Yankee government. Due to the technical level involved as well due to the impact this has on the disposition of forces in the region, it is not difficult for anyone to conclude on such operation without the participation of the Yankee imperialists. They are its main promoters.
This makes clear the despair of the sole hegemonic superpower, Yankee imperialism, in the face of the sharp decline of its condition. We insist that there is no sign of strength in this episode. Quite the opposite, it was an extreme decision, which will have serious consequences, due to the latest political and military defeats that the Zionists and their sponsors have suffered. The last and most important defeat was the unification of the Palestinian Resistance and the neutralization of the capitulators around a patriotic program, around the reinvigorated flag of a free, unified Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital; it was the consolidation of a new stage in the Palestinian anti-imperialist struggle. The Yankees and Zionists, defeated and humiliated during more than 10 months of struggle in Gaza, demoralized as the genocidals they are, were unable to deal with this and they intend to eliminate the head of the process to create disputes, chaos and disintegrate the patriotic Palestinian United Front.
The price to pay, meanwhile, is severely high. The Iranian government is forced to respond, and will have a political and moral safe conduct for this, with this operation taking place on its territory, after a solemn and official State event. If it will attack directly or not is a guess, but it will certainly give even more incentive and strength to the anti-imperialist sentiment contained by the anti-imperialist peasant militias in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and throughout the Levant, which unite around their regional leadership and under their influence. The anti-imperialist war, which has already become regional, tends to consolidate this position, and the most sensitive point, beyond Palestine, is the increasing risk of the full opening of a new war front in the North of Israel with Hezbollah, in Lebanon. This would be a very high price to pay for the action against Ismail Haniyeh, which seriously threatens the Zionist apartheid regime.
The Yankees still have other concerns. Besides the military crisis in the Indo-Pacific, which involves USA, China, and Russia, with missile installations and even nuclear threats from Russian imperialism if USA positions and keeps its arsenals there, Yankee imperialists, with the country’s population driven towards division and growing political radicalization, they still have to deal with their “backyard”, as they like to call Latin America, devastated, as can be seen, by successive waves of political-social turmoil.
The Venezuelan elections, of course, disliked the Yankees—and legitimize a situation of growing Russian and especially Chinese influence in this part of the subcontinent. Although the Yankee Secretary of State said, on the night of August 1st, that Edmundo González won the elections, it is a mere act. After all, the imperialists knew that this would be the result of Maduro’s victory and is sinking in crises of all kinds. They cannot subvert the Venezuelan regime, neither through direct intervention nor through pressure. The first case would be stupidity at this moment, as it would raise a huge anti-imperialist wave throughout the Latin American region, which would inevitably converge with the latent peasant war underway in its vast southern part, greatly favoring the revolutionary cause and would quickly explode as sharp global anti-imperialist feeling, mainly anti-Yankee, linked to the Palestinian cause and many others. The second case, of trying to subvert the regime through pressure and thus producing armed dissent, has already proven impossible: Maduro’s corporatist regime is consolidated enough to disrupt these initiatives, at least under these conditions. Yankees are forced to keep an eye on the situation, increase sanctions and provocations, of course, but they can do nothing more than what they now and, even if they do, they tend to make it even worse internally and internationally.
This whole situation exposes the fragility of the “giant with clay feet” Yankee imperialism. These are revolutionary times we live in, favorable for the unleashing of new revolutionary storms; in other words, they are the newest proofs that the World Proletarian Revolution is the main historical and political trend.
