International month of actions for the liberation of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah

The Campagne Unitaire pour la libération de Georges Abdallah (CUpLGIA) issued a statement calling to make an International Month of Actions, from September 7 until October 7, on occasion of the 40th anniversary of imprisonment in France of the communist and pro-Palestinian militant Georges Ibrahim Abdallah. We have translated and shared this statement into English and Spanish. Many actions are being carried out across several countries. We hereby share some of those actions.
Many of those events and actions are taking place in France:
At the Fête de l’Huma, a public event which gathers thousands of people in France, the demand for the liberation of Georges Abdallah was present during the three days it lasted. Posters were put up, leaflets were distributed, information tables were placed, as well the necessity of the liberation of Georges Abdallah and how urgent it is was highlighted in a panel discussions held during this public event. Also a big mobilization was carried out during the event.
Also after the call was released, the numerous sections of the CUpLGIA and of the Fédération Syndicale Etudiante carried out many actions all over France, such as in Amiens, Lille, Limoges, Lyon, Manosque, Paris, Nanterre, Rennes, Saint-Denis, Strasbourg or Toulouse.
Additionally there are more activities planned for the upcoming weeks in France:
For today a regional demonstration in St. Denis, called by the Ligue de la Jeunesse Révolutionnaire (LJR), Jeunes Révolutionnaires (JR), and theCUpLGIA.
On October 6, there will be a public event to support the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon and to demand the freedom for Georges Abdallah. The event is called: “To support the resistance of the Palestinian people and the Lebanese people, is to support Georges Abdallah”.
On October 11 there will be a homage to comrade Suzanne to honor her legacy.
In Copenhagen, Denmark, several actions such as information tables and leaflets spreadings have been carried out:
In Trondheim, Norway, several posters for Georges Abdallah have been put up.
Several organizations in the Spanish State have shared and joined the international statement impulsed by the CUpLGIA: the Revolutionary Committees of Madrid, Valencia and Albacete. They have announced that they will join the actions of solidarity and they invite to all the solidarity organizations and people with the Palestinian cause in the Spanish State to carry out actions for the liberation of Georges Abdallah.
