Bangladesh: Program of the New Democratic People’s Front
We hereby share an unofficial translation of the recently published program of the New Democratic People’s Front from Bangladesh.
Build a movement based on new demands for real state power by the people
Struggling friends,
After the fall of the Hasina-Awami fascist government through the student uprising, the programs and activities of the “interim government” in the last one and a half months have proved that they are not a government of workers-peasants-middle class and oppressed women-tribal people. They are the governments of imperialism, especially Western imperialism, compromises with India, military-backed of the so-called “Third Power” governments. Who are different groups from the big bourgeois ruling class of the country. They have hijacked the fruits of the student uprising.
In this situation, we call upon the workers-peasants-students-masses to form a movement based on the following urgent demands. Continue to struggle for the power of the people!
- Abolish Hasina-Awami fascist constitution! Struggle against the anti-expansionism of imperialism and for the establishment of a people’s democratic system and constitution!
- Confiscate all the property of Awami fascists! Distribute their farmland to poor-landless peasants for free! Nationalize banks, factories, institutions! Declare all reservoirs open to anglers!
- Ban religious militant fascist politics including fascist Awami League and Jamaat who murdered people in ’71!
- Withdraw the army from Chittagong Hill Tracts!
- Withdraw the army troops deployed across the country!
- Stand up against the conspiracy to ban student politics in the classroom!
- Reduce commodity prices; Stop Extortion on transport, street-traders and small businesses!
- Pay 50% dearness allowance to workers! Accept the demand for a minimum wage of 25 thousand taka in all labor fields!
- Ensure fair price for peasants’ crops! Reduce the price of agricultural materials including electricity-oil-fertilizer!
- Abolish all unequal agreements with imperialist countries and Indian expansionism! Cancel Rampal, Rooppur, Adani, Indo-Pacific!
- ’74 Special Powers Act, cancel all black laws including digital law!
- Arrest and punish the active supporters of Awami fascism among all state forces, bureaucrats, businessmen, including the police!
- Abolish Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), those responsible for disappearances and murders, publish the list, punish them!
- Condemn Israel’s genocide with the help of Western imperialists including the US in Palestine!
