Spanish State: Masses apply solidarity and show that only the people save the people

We hereby publish an unofficial translation of an article published by Servir al Pueblo.

We update some things about the DANA disaster in Valencia. Faced with the inaction and terrible management of local, regional and national governments, the masses are organizing to apply the solidarity that the Spanish imperialist State denies them. Once again, it is shown that the masses make history, and that only the people saves the people.

Hundreds of people have walked from Valencia to the towns of l’Horta Sud [Translator’s note: southern areas close to the city of Valencia, main affected by the DANA], to bring food, blankets and collaborate in the rescue and support tasks for those affected.

Against the racist and fascist narrative, migrants are cooking and contributing with various actions to solidarity.

The housing movement and different social and neighborhood organizations are collecting what is needed and carrying out solidarity actions. We share some of them.

Besides the solidarity, the anger of the masses against bourgeois politicians is also present. The Valencia Provincial Council closed its work centers due to DANA six hours before issuing the warning by SMS to the entire population. That is to say, it was known what was going to happen and due to ineptitude it was not reported in time, and many lives that have been lost could have been saved. Different organizations have warned that they will mobilize against Mazón [Translator’s note: Valencian regional government president].
