Ecuador: Comrade Joselo is one of those who live forever in the memory of the class and the oppressed peoples of the world

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement published on the website of the Communist Party of Ecuador – Red Sun.

Definitely, there are combatants of the class and the people who set a different rhythm in the work to make the new type of democratic revolution advance in the country.

Comrade Joselo, despite having certain physical limitations, gave everything for the Party and for the revolution. A humble man, son of the deepest core of the people, where pain, anguish and poverty become revolutionary ferment for those who dare to struggle and to raise the flags of the class and the people.

With his hands loaded with fire, his thunder-voice and his indomitable rebellion, he decisively contributed to sealing a process of breaking with the wrong ideological line. He grasped Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, Gonzalo thought, based his revolutionary life between worker and peasant labor, always willing to promote, in practice, the militarization of the Party and to advance the revolutionary violence as a transversal line in the task of building the instruments of the revolution.

The historical conditions in which Comrade Joselo contributed to the forging of the Party were difficult, decisive. They occurred precisely at a time when the complexities, antagonisms and ideological struggle demanded a lot of firmness, dedication and bravery.

Today, just like yesterday, we face new challenges, new conditions, and the revolution demands combatants of that forge, of that type. The current combatants have a “very high standard” to overcome; they have an enough solid and great example to understand that being a communist and, above all, a militant of the class and the people, demands sacrifice, dedication, renunciation, to be prepared for “death by a thousand cuts”; who believe in the need “to steel our spirits,
be strong, vigorous, fearless and confident in our victory.”

It is neither enough to commit just a bit to the revolution nor to subordinate one’s personal life to the militant life; it is urgent to generously give and expose our lives in service of the World Proletarian Revolution.

Comrade Joselo, old mole – one more year has passed since he died; we vehemently maintain that he lives in the heart and in the struggles of the class and the oppressed peoples of the world.
