Lannemezan and after?
We hereby share an unofficial translation of the recent call published by the Unitary Campaign for the Liberation of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah (CUPLGIA).
On Saturday, October 26, at the dawn of Georges Abdallah’s forty-first year in detention, more than 4,000 solidarity supporters resonated beyond the “abominable walls” of these “sinister places”, echoing their unwavering determination to continue the struggle until the liberation of this exceptional prisoner; more than 4,000 solidarity supporters made their slogans and songs resonate beyond the barbed wire and watchtowers, providing not only “a scathing refutation to all those who were banking on the loss of momentum of your solidarity”, but also demonstrating how this mobilization at every moment – a true spark in the prairie – continues to swell, to spread everywhere across the territory and even beyond its borders, intensifying on all fronts.
“Gaza will never wave the white flag of capitulation. Neither the Zionists nor any other criminal force will ever succeed in breaking the will of the resistance in Gaza.” This conviction, representing a historical law demonstrated in the entire history of Palestine and reaffirmed once again by Georges Abdallah in his statement on the 26th of October, extends to all his supporters who, year after year, far from taking this white flag of capitulation and seeing their will to resist weaken, continue to act, denounce, inform, mobilize, convince, claim, and demand the liberation of this comrade without ever giving up – following his spirit – while participating in his struggle, with the goal that, ultimately, not only “Palestine reoccupies more than ever its place at the forefront of the international scene”, but also that the circumstances for one of its historical combatants improve.
In the upcoming days, this unprecedented momentum of active solidarity, that also counts, as Georges Abdallah rightly pointed out, on this “exciting burst of active youth”, must once again assert itself in all ongoing struggles to combine our unconditional support for the heroic resistance of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples with the demand for the immediate and unconditional release of Georges Abdallah. In this sense, as the decision of the Sentence Enforcement Court of Paris regarding his tenth request for conditional release will be rendered on November 15, the Unitary Campaign calls – like on October 24 – for a new large day of coordinated mobilizations in front of all the representations of the French State in France and internationally, so that this time it is not just hundreds of demonstrators gathering in 18 cities, but indeed, once again, thousands across the entire hexagon and well beyond.
So yes, as Georges Abdallah also says, “Shame on all those who, faced with genocidal Zionist barbarism, call to look elsewhere!” and honor to all those who, beyond repression, use the weapon of solidarity and act so that thousands of initiatives flourish in favor of Palestine, its glorious resistance, and in support of the torchbearers of this resistance, the Palestinian prisoners, including Georges Abdallah!
