Mexico: Communists call to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of Mexico
We publish an unofficial translation of a statement published here.
Proletarians of all countries, unite!
To the proletariat and the workers
To the poor peasantry and the peoples of Anáhuac
To the youth and the women of the people
Comrades!
On the upcoming 24th of November, we will commemorate 105 years since the founding of the Communist Party of Mexico as the vanguard detachment of the organized working class. This is a call to commemorate this by raising the red flags of the proletariat to the highest!
From its early years, through various periods of fierce class struggle and hard two-line struggle, the Party of the Mexican working class fought to remain steadfast in the trenches of the historical program of the proletariat, holding on to its scientific ideology. Thus, at its I. Congress in 1919, the CPM declared itself as the Mexican Section of the Communist International, reaffirming its firm class position with the highest communist spirit, which is Proletarian Internationalism, as part of and in service of the World Proletarian Revolution.
Our Party, flesh and blood of the proletariat, emerged as Party of new type, merging with the exploited and oppressed of these lands, giving voice and direction to their struggles. Through clandestine newspapers like “El Sóviet” and “El Machete,” our Party carried out an intense campaign of agitation and propaganda that allowed millions of Mexicans to access a people’s and democratic press capable of informing and educating new generations of revolutionary fighters.
Fighting with the weapon of criticism and with the criticism of weapons, Mexican communists have paid high costs for daring to struggle; their lives are intertwined with the lives of the workers from the city and the countryside who have also been persecuted, imprisoned, disappeared, and murdered by the old State. None of this has been enough to end the Heroic Combatant of the Mexican proletariat!
For decades, the Party faced and defeated the reaction and contemporary revisionism on more than one occasion, which ultimately declared the “liquidation” of the Party, leading to its fragmentation into countless efforts that, in their vast majority, have degenerated ideologically and politically, falling behind opportunism and social democracy.
However, the Mexican proletariat possesses a rich tradition of struggle and enormous political experience that allows it to perfectly recognize the chameleons who fill their mouths talking about “revolution” while practicing class collaboration. Those who seek to hijack the name of the Party while making deals with the regime are condemned to the dustbin of history; that is the place they deserve for trafficking with the just struggles of the workers and the peoples.
Our Party knew how to confront tyranny without lowering its flags, leading the class and the poor peasantry in the construction of revolutionary mass organizations. And today, in the midst of the challenges it faces, it reorganizes the forces of the Mexican proletariat by going deep into the masses to build generated organizations that share three main characteristics: 1) adhering to the scientific ideology of the proletariat, 2) forming as mass organizations, and 3) adhering to democratic centralism.
The current stage in which our Party finds itself is that of its reconstitution, and this establishes its character as a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Communist Party, mainly Maoist, with the universally valid contributions of Chairman Gonzalo. Maoism is the third, new, and superior stage of Marxism; this is a scientific definition that affirms our political line for the revolution that Mexico demands. This revolution, which will be proletarian, will necessarily go through two fundamental stages: 1) New Democratic Revolution, agrarian and anti-imperialist, which fights against the Latifundium, imperialism and bureaucratic capitalism, and 2) Socialist Revolution, which, based on the socialization of the means of production in the hands of the New State, guarantees national sovereignty, the self-determination of our peoples, and the establishment of a new mode of production and distribution of wealth. This revolution is part of and in service of the World Proletarian Revolution and, as such, must be defended with Proletarian Cultural Revolutions to avoid the risk of capitalist restoration.
The struggle for the reconstitution of the Communist Party of Mexico encompasses the need for a militarized Party and the concentric construction of the three instruments of the revolution: Communist Party, People’s Army, and People’s Front. Only in this way we can ensure that the proletariat receives its highest triumph in the struggle for power, its Heroic Combatant.
The main aspect of Maoism is power: power for the proletariat, power for the dictatorship of the proletariat, power based on an armed force led by the Communist Party. This means that the Party is reconstituted to initiate, develop, and succeed in the People’s War in our country, not to participate in bourgeois elections or to be a mere accompaniment to the bureaucratic path. In this way, through People’s War, the Party will conquer power inch by inch against the enemies of the people, giving birth to the New Power of workers, poor peasants, indigenous peoples and oppressed masses in liberated territories, forming support bases.
On this 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Mexico, Mexican communists call upon the exploited and oppressed of our country to make this last two months of the year a period of celebrations by holding conversations, conferences, creating murals, dazibaos, putting up posters, and raising red flags, widely disseminating this call to commemorate the 105th anniversary of our Party, the Party of the Mexican working class, the Communist Party of Mexico.
