Fourteen casualties in the ranks of the military in the consecutive counter-siege in the towns of Uson and Baleno

Seven were killed while seven were wounded in the ranks of the military after the New People’s Army countered the attempted siege by the military in consecutive battles in the towns of Uson and Baleno in the third week of November 2024.

In the battle that took place in Sityo Pile, Barangay San Jose, Uson town on November 22, the NPA confronted the arriving troops of the 2nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippines’ Army and thus actively defended itself. Contrary to the military’s statement that the battle lasted for 20 minutes, the firefight lasted only five minutes because the military ran away in fear after being fired upon by the NPA. Residents witnessed buffaloes carrying some of the corpses of the slain soldiers.

It is a challenge for the NPA-Masbate to take advantage of the initiative gained in the counter-siege by launching tactical offensives to further weaken the military and seize their weapons.

While their officers are riddled with corruption, the US-Marcos regime’s insane attempt to end the armed struggle before the end of the year 2024 is causing demoralization and trauma to the common soldiers, who have no patriotic spirit and are not ready for sacrifices and shortages.

Many do not want to participate in operations because their fear of being blown up by remote detonated explosives. There are also many who cannot silence their conscience because of their killings of innocent civilians just so that the corrupt counterinsurgency campaign of their officials appears to be succeeding. More people have lost their conscience and become monsters because of drug addiction and addicted to the rotten, decadent and savage culture within the AFP.

Worse, instead of honoring their dead, the military hides their casualties out of shame. This is a sign of the AFP’s disrespect for the lives of their soldiers and their families.

Meanwhile, the Jose Rapsing Command (JRC)-NPA Masbate wants to clarify that the allegation of the 96th Infantry Battalion of the Philippines’ Army about comrades abandoning a man named “Ka Leon” in another battle that took place in Brangay Cancahorao, town of Baleno on November 20, is a lie. Such a comrade was separated from the retreat and reached the route where the military was present. In fact, we fear for Ka Leon’s life. The show of saving Ka Leon’s life is just to make the military appear humane. Ka Leon’s life is increasingly in danger at the hands of the military.

The JRC-NPA Masbate calls on the provincial units to maintain high alert in the face of the AFP’s desperate attempt to have an accomplishment before the end of the year 2024. The NPA-Masbate units must take advantage of every opportunity to advance revolutionary activities, especially the launching of tactical offensives to frustrate Marcos Jr.’s order to end the armed struggle this year, 2024.
