30th Pedagogy Meeting Ideologically Strength the Struggle for Land in Brazil
On November 30 and December 1, the 30th Meeting of Pedagogy Students from Paraná (EPEPe) took place in the Federal University of Southern Border, Paraná, Brasil. During the meeting, the students attended to several presentation on the struggle for land in their country.
Terra Roxa presented on the struggle of Avá-Guaraní for their most basic rights such as education, and the struggle against latifundium, which threatens them constantly. An alarming example mentioned was the case of a school bus driver who, due to threats, left indigenous children 5km from the village in conditions of intense rain.
The meeting featured a panel on the political situation, in which the newspaper A Nova Democracia, through the representative of the region’s support committee, took part, presenting an analysis of the fierce class struggle that is unleashed internationally today due to the deepening of general crisis and decomposition of imperialism and the new period of revolutions that is opening, which is expressed today, mainly, in the regionalization of the war in the Middle East and in the Palestinian National Resistance.
But also the struggle for land in the Brazilian countryside was of great importance. It was shown a special report by the newspaper A Nova Democracia on the heroic battle of Barro Branco that overthrew the paramilitary group “Invasão Zero”, to which pedagogy students attended.
Students have shown their support and interest buying all the exposed magazines of Nova Aurora, from the Women’s People’s Movement of Brazil, and several books.
We published an unofficial translation of an article on the importance of Women in the Struggle of Barro Branco. You can read here:
