AND Editorial – The far right takes back the White House

We hereby publish an unofficial translation of the latest editorial by A Nova Democracia:

Once in office and in his first acts, right-wing extremist Donald Trump issued decrees that show a desperate attempt to fire, virulently and in various directions, to corner the contenders and, mainly, the oppressed peoples of the world, who raise their level of rebellion. The meaning of the national emergency decree, signed by the leader of the Yankee beast, is no different, which will give the right to a government that is even more centralized in functions and powers, heading towards presidential absolutism – without which Yankee imperialism will sink all the faster into crises of all kinds, which will be expressed in this maximum centralization of power in the executive.

Let’s see, for example, Trump’s “National Security Emergency” statement. With it, the far right Yankee aims to mobilize imperialist chauvinism around the government and give cohesion to a neo-Nazi social base, degenerate elements of the politicized Yankee lumps, shaking the danger of “barbaric invasion” and drag the believing and devoted masses to Christian fundamentalism. In addition, such a measure also aims to stifle the rebellion of the American proletariat, of which the deepest and broadest, most rebellious and oppressed sector is immigrant, a part of which, illegal. “Let’s send troops [from the Armed Forces] to end the invasion,” said Trump, referring to the Mexico border. The signed decree also revokes the right to citizenship of the children of illegal immigrants born on US territory. At international level, the Yankee desire to explicitly intervene in Latin America, raising taxes to Mexican goods and threating of taking the Panama Canal militarily.

Behind a thousand speeches that shout “I am strong”, there is an imperialist nation tormented by crises of all types and on all sides. In the Gaza Strip, the Yankees – together with the Nazis – suffered a humiliating, resounding defeat against the guerrilla forces of the Palestinian Resistance, admitted by the head of the “Israel Defense Forces”, General Herzi Halevi: “I am responsible for the failure of the Army since October 7th”. Noble words from a genocidal parasite. Now, Trump and Netanyahu will focus on the West Bank (as they are already doing, launching their newest campaign of encirclement and annihilation), where they will face the same intrepid Palestinian people, but now on two fronts, as the Gaza Strip will take advantage and, at the first opportunity, will launch a new tactical offensive that will bring to its knees, once again, the Zionist beast – which will also have to deal with Hezbollah, in the North, with the powerful missiles from the Yemeni Houthis that attack them from their southern rear and the Yankee armada in the Red Sea, and with the expansionist actions of Iran, which is interested in the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Trump (and, above all, the Pentagon, which ultimately, actually governs) is, aware of the sinister scenario that is presented in the Middle East, combined with the fact that Yankee imperialism is being questioned by the other imperialist powers and by the Russian superpower. The military crisis in Taiwan, which China is finalizing preparations to retake and destroy the Yankee presence in its rear, will have severe consequences for the Yankees, both economic (since the island is strategic in the production of chips with decisive impacts on the development of the industrial-technological sector with very high surplus value) and political-military (China and Japan will increase their economic and war efforts to exert greater influence in the Pacific and Asia, while North Korea will increase its costs to maintain its positions in the region in order to provide important political stability that had been achieved for almost seven decades in South Korea, now in crisis). Therefore, in desperation, Trump threatened Vladimir Putin, “demanding” him to end the “ridiculous war” in Ukraine, which will result in the partition of Ukrainian territory and a tactical impasse.

Behind all the arrogance of the Yankee extreme right – values that all extremist reactionaries rescued from the Nazis – are tons of flammable material, the final crisis of an international system of domination, exploitation and rapine. The old order can no longer be sustained except through the unparalleled worsening of both exploitation, oppression, and the increasing denial of the human condition to the masses, which rebel and strengthen the main historical and political tendency towards revolution, as well as the arms race – widespread and unabated, which fuels the danger of a new and third world war. Although it always involves ever greater dangers of causing unparalleled harm to humanity, the fact is that, ultimately, the protagonism of the extreme right is a sign of imperialism’s weakness.

Furthermore, the statement in the title above sounds ironic when the president who is leaving has promoted in the last 15 months the monstrous and protracted genocide of civilians, mainly tens of thousands of children and women in Palestine. But it is further painful proof that, whatever the government of the imperialist countries, in addition to being potentially genocidal, it barely makes it a reality and that fascism emerges from its depths. Even more so when the crisis of decomposition of financial monopoly capital reaches a certain severity, as history knows in the periods preceding the I. and II, imperialist world wars, such as what is going on now. The two large fractions of the Yankee imperialist ruling classes are equal in content and only different in form, that is, the contradictions between them, no matter how fierce their clashes appear, are non-antagonistic contradictions. The nature of imperialism in struggle and collusion that is expressed in the relations between its States, be they superpowers or powers, is the same that occurs between its fractions at the level of each imperialist Nation and State, with the exception that, in the case of contradictions between States (inter-imperialist ones), when on the eve of a world war they can turn into antagonism.
