Brazil, Paraná: Activists Promote AND in Londrina, in a Neighborhood Marked by a Major Uprising After the Murder of Two Young Men by the Police

A Nova Democracia reports: On February 20, activists from the Support Committee for the newspaper AND distributed about 150 flyers in the Bratac neighborhood with articles from AND about the execution of two young men who lived in the area. The popular outrage that followed resulted in a major uprising that set the city on fire.

The activists were received with great hospitality by the residents, with whom they discussed the events. Many praised the work of AND, highlighting it as the only newspaper reporting the truth about the case. In addition to engaging in dialogue with the people, the activists also left flyers at various homes, placing them in mailboxes to broaden the reach of the denunciation.

The flyers contained QR codes that directed readers to the newspaper’s report on the protests that occurred after the deaths, making it easier for residents to access the full coverage of the case.

The activists also met with the mother of one of the young men, who asked to keep some flyers and committed to distributing them. She reaffirmed her determination to continue struggling until justice is served for her son. In addition to these materials, the printed editorial “A Turbulent Year Can Be Foreseen” was also distributed.
