Luiz Inácio gets increasingly rejected across Brazil
A Nova Democracia (AND) has reported on the increasing rejection by the masses towards the Luiz Inácio government in southern, south-east and center-west regions, according to a survey carried out on February 26. The survey was made in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco and Goiás.
The results on the increasing disapproval are as follow: from 55% to 69% in São Paulo, from 47% to 63% in Minas Gerais, from 33% to 51% in Bahia, from 33% to 50% in Pernambuco, from 64% to 66% in Rio de Janeiro and in Rio Grande do Sul, from 53% to 60% in Paraná and from 56% to 70% in Goiás. In February another survey found that a 44% of the Brazilians make a negative evaluation of Luiz Inácio government.
The research also measured the rejection to the former reactionary president, Jair Bolsonaro. The results show that Luiz Inácio and Bolsonaro, both are rejected in rates ranging from 40% to 68%, which indicates that in the false polarization between the false left and the far right, the people reject both. Bolsonaro’s rejection surpasses Luiz Inacio’s only in Bahia and Pernambuco.
The AND’s general director mentioned that “it would be a big mistake of democrats and revolutionaries to see the support to the government as a measure against the reactionary danger that is now present. This government is part of the process that allows the arrival of the danger of extremist, fascist and coup reaction.”
