
Turkey: 53 people, including a Partizan reader, arrested in Istanbul
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report by Yeni Demokrasi.
At the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, out of 134 people who were questioned by the prosecutor’s office, 73 were ordered to be arrested, while 61 were referred to the peace criminal court with a request for judicial control.
The court decided to arrest 53 individuals, including Okay Koçak, a reader of Partizan. It was learned that those arrested were taken to Metris Prison.
The court decided to place 18 of the detainees under house arrest, while 63 others were released with other judicial control measures applied.
It has been reported that a total of 263 people have been arrested in Istanbul.
