Eternal Honor and Glory to Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez
The Coordination Committee for the Foundation of the Anti-Imperialist League pays the most heartfelt homage to Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, founding member of the Current of the People Red Sun, Mexico, and a prominent member of its Political Commission, also member of our Coordination Committee for the Foundation of the Anti-Imperialist League, to which he has dedicated his life until his last breath on March 30 at 72 years old, serving the people, forging the revolutionary path in Mexico and serving the cause of the liberation of all the masses and peoples of the world from oppression and exploitation of imperialism and all reaction.
Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez has a long and very rich life course together with the popular and democratic movements in Mexico, and made inestimable contributions to the organization and the struggles of the working people in the city and mainly in the countryside. Son of a peasant family, he was a pillar in the organization of the peasants of Oaxaca, where he impulsed the struggle for land, peasant associations, schools, among other struggles. He has supported the struggles of the poor peasants for the Agrarian Revolution without limits and firmly combated the bloody war against the people which made him go live in the first rows on the countryside. He was a dedicated teacher and syndicalist militant who threw himself in the struggle for the democratic rights of the people and with full dedication and persistence has contributed to the founding of more than a dozen democratic and revolutionary union organizations and forged new generations of revolutionaries in Mexico with his example, who doubtlessly will anchor themselves iron hard to his example and the revolutionary path he contributed to forge.
As an internationalist militant, Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez has ardently defended the cause of the liberation of the peoples oppressed by imperialism and contributed to the impulse of the anti-imperialist struggle in Mexico. In the last months, professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez determinedly assumed the tasks for the construction of the Anti-Imperialist League and headed the formation of the Mexican chapter. The Coordination Committee for the Foundation of the Anti-Imperialist League feels this hard loss and commits in his memory to redouble the efforts to continue the tasks that Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez was impulsing and to place him in a place of honor in the upcoming Congress for the foundation of the Anti-Imperialist League.
As a consistent revolutionary and anti-imperialist, Comrade Celedonio Luis Santibáñez fought against revisionism and opportunism, being an example of the spirit of going against the current, at the moments when Hoxhaism and Castro-Guevarism armed revisionism strongly hindered the popular struggle while the war against the people bloodily unleashed its fury against the communities, Comrade Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez knew how to firmly fight against capitulation and liquidation of the popular movement and to contribute with bravery and patience and when the popular movement regrew under the revolutionary and anti-opportunist line. Professor Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez embraced the ideology of the proletariat and defended that the liberation of the oppressed masses and peoples could only be completed under the leadership of the proletariat.
Learn from Professor Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, his humbleness, link with the deep masses and dedication to the cause of the oppressed when exemplary fulfilling his revolutionary and democratic responsibilities wherever he was. His life and legacy of dedication for the Mexican revolution and the anti-imperialist struggle are a glorious example to all who struggle against imperialism and the reaction in all parts of the world. He is inscribed in the history of our heroes of the people in golden words, until the final victory of revolution. We dedicate this homage and our commitment to continue his struggle to his unforgettable memory and trajectory as a revolutionary militant.
