Turkey: Partizan readers detained in Istanbul

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Yeni Demokrasi.

This morning, a large number of people were detained in home raids in Istanbul.

Partizan readers whose homes were raided were taken into custody under torture. Another person in the home of a detained Partizan reader was also subjected to police torture. As a result of police violence, the person suffered a nosebleed. Newspapers from Yeni Demokrasi were torn apart in the house. Musical instruments were broken by the police.

The detainees are as follows: 3 people from Partizan, 5 people from TÖP, 1 person from Proleter Devrimci Duruş (PDD), 10 people from Kaldıraç, 2 people from the Mücadele Birliği Platformu, 7 people from the Bağımsız Devrimci Sınıf Platformu (BDSP), 8 people from Halk Cephesi, BEKSAV Co-Chair Ahmet Uçar, Ayşenur Demir, Cemil Aksu from the Polen Ecology Collective, Ruşa Sabur, the vocalist of Grup Vardiya, Aydın Kılıçdere, Ali Haydar Saygılı, Hüseyin İldan, Cemre Nayır, and Eylül Devrim Altepe from ESP.
