France: Immense success of the demonstration for the release of Georges Abdallah in Paris!

This Saturday, June 14, during the demonstration in support of Palestine and the resistance of the Palestinian people, the portraits and the demand for the release of Georges Abdallah flooded all the streets, gathering 15,000 people. Far from making Georges Abdallah invisible, the choice to be part of the same demonstration linking Palestine and one of its historical fighters significantly helped to amplify his struggle and the urgency of his release.

More than 15,000 people (three times more than on February 8) and all organizations supporting Georges Abdallah particularly chose to join the united mobilization called by the Unitary Campaign to demonstrate a massive, strong, and combative mobilization, resolutely aligned with the anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, and anti-fascist political line of Georges Abdallah and determined to go all the way for his release.

We were able to demonstrate, through the unprecedented scale and combative determination of the demonstration, that the struggle demanding the immediate release of our comrade Georges Abdallah is the most advanced point of political and social opposition to Zionist barbarism in France.

The third battle plan of the Unitary Campaign is a success, but the struggle continues! We call for continued and intensified actions in support of Georges Abdallah until June 19 and beyond if necessary to secure the release of our comrade and ensure that Georges Abdallah is no longer just “an inconvenient prisoner,” as the Justice system claims, but rather a prisoner whose detention, in this engaged power dynamic, weighs more heavily on the French state than his release.

Following the call of the Unitary Campaign, multiple gatherings will take place internationally (in Beirut, Mexico City, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bastia, Tunis, Milan, Hamburg, Vancouver, Seattle, New York…) and throughout France (Montpellier, Pau, Lille, Rennes, Nantes, Limoges, Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Annecy, Toulouse, Marseille, Bordeaux, Martigues…) on Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, the eve and day of Georges Abdallah’s trial.
