The Alliance of Resisting Organizations and Peoples is born in Mexico

The Alliance of Resisting Organizations and Peoples (AOPR) in Oaxaca, Mexico is born under the slogan “Stop the war against the people!”. It is the result of a process of coordination and joint debate that lasted months and which has culminated after an important unification assembly.

AOPR is independent from the State, the parties and the governments of the bourgeoisie, and its objective is the struggle for justice for all peoples, calling on struggle against all forms of repression, to stop the war against the people and to oppose the imperialist war.

AOPR is integrated by seven organizations – among them Current of the People Red Sun. In its political declaration, they denounce the war against the people and the “popular resistance” through militarization and criminalization, and the rally of organized crime by the State. Throughout the country, there are more than 500.000 murdered and 150.000 disappeared due to this war.

Imperialism is highlighted as the root of this war against the peoples: “The general crisis of this decaying system keeps imperialism engaged in a new international war of plunder for the new division of the world, with oppressed peoples as the primary spoils. Amidst this, oppression and exploitation intensify, imposing more hunger and misery through mega-projects of dispossession and death, among other means.” They also reject the electoral parties, in the service of their imperialist and capitalist masters, and patriarchy as the expression of the old system.

“As the central tenet of our unity, we have agreed to resist all forms of repression, considering an attack against one of us an attack against us all, and it will be met with a resounding response where they will feel the power of the people. Every drop of blood spilled by our comrades will come at a high price for the enemies of the people.” they add.

AOPR ends its statement demanding justice for the murdered comrades, among them Eutiquio Loaza Jiménez and Sandra Estéfana Domínguez Martínez and the eight members of Current of the People Red Sun murdered in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, freedom to all political prisoners, as Arnulfo García Santos, and the presentation of Dr. Sernas García alive.
