Hundreds Participate in Demonstration Against the Peace Price in Oslo, Norway
Tjen Folket Media writes, that on December 9th, several organizations and several hundred people participated in a demonstration against the awarding of the “Nobel Peace Price” to María Corina Machado in Oslo, Norway.
In the event description it says that the background for the demonstration is Machados support of Trumps statements that Venezuela constitutes a threat to the US, at the same time as Trump openly threatens to start the first offensive war in Latin America in 36 years. That the Peace price is used actively to legitimize Trumps threats of military intervention in Venezuela and the accompanying ‘people’s rights’ abuses.
“In videos posted on social media we can hear slogans such as “No more Imperialism” and “The people united will never be defeated”” Tjen Folket Media states. According to the State news channel, NRK, between 200 and 300 people took part in the demonstration. Other organizations estimates the amount of people to be close to 500.
