We hereby share an unofficial translation of the part on Mexico from the latest Weekly Newsletter published by Sol Rojo.
On December 26, Current of the People – Red Sun will celebrate another anniversary since its founding and the 132nd anniversary of the birth of Chairman Mao Tse Tung. Current of the People – Red Sun, as a democratic-revolutionary organization, was born in a land seizure in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in 2007 after the peoples insurrection of the APPO against the tyrant Ulises Ruiz Ortiz. At that time, our democratic organization worked among the agrarian communities in a non-public manner, and it was not until 2016 that our existence became public amid mobilizations for the freedom of political prisoners. However, it was on December 26, 2017, when our First Political Congress formally declared its constitution as a democratic-revolutionary organization that strives for the construction of the People’s Front as a third instrument for the New Democratic, agrarian, and anti-imperialist Revolution, uninterrupted towards the building of Socialism in Mexico.
Since then, we have embraced the scientific ideology of the proletariat: Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, and in our process of construction we have embraced the dialectical leaps of this all-powerful ideology because it is true. Now we will celebrate 18 years of political work among the communities and 9 years of public life; 18/9 years of democratic-revolutionary struggle in which, applying the policy of “The Three With,” we have merged into the hearts and minds of our class and our peoples of Anahuac. Throughout all these years, some of our comrades have been assassinated by the old big landlord-bureaucratic State; others have died due to health problems or old age; others have been imprisoned; and one of our dearest comrades is missing.
Our democratic organization bows its red flags in memory of each of them, especially our comrade Prof. Celedonio Luis Santibáñez, who passed away in March of this year, and Dr. Ernesto Sernas García, who has been missing since May 10, 2018. Before all our martyred comrades, now elevated to heroes of the people, we raise our oath to the highest level, honoring their memory and their dedication to the construction of our democratic-revolutionary organization and the National Revolution, as part of and in service to the World Proletarian Revolution.
