TO THE STREETS ON MARCH 8: The Yankees will not bring liberation! Women, to the struggle against imperialism and patriarchy!
March 8 is the day of struggle of working women. It is the day when we revolutionary women take to the streets as part of our classes to participate in their struggle. Patriarchy was born with the emergence of private property, and only by putting an end to private property can it be crushed. Only thus, by participating in the revolution, can women achieve their emancipation.
There are two forces in the world revolution today that are striking deadly blows at this oppressive and exploitative system: the proletarian revolution and the national liberation struggle. US imperialism, the number one enemy of the peoples of the world, is launching ever more unrestrained attacks on the oppressed peoples and nations of the world in order to resolve the deep crisis it is in. We have seen its ugly face from Palestine to Venezuela. It seeks to reshape the world to its liking in order to serve its big corporations and stock market speculators, as we clearly see in the Middle East. In Syria, it has supported the balkanization of the country through its lackeys Turkey and Israel and recognized the femicide organization HTS as the country’s administration in order to attack the national liberation struggles in the region.
Most recently, it has carried out a brazen attack on Iran’s right to national self-determination, together with its lackey Israel. This attack has killed hundreds of civilians, including women and children, as well as the country’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his daughter and her children, in violation of international law. The illegality and brazenness of this act does not depend on whether Khameinei was a “ruler of terror” or not – it is a violation of Iran’s right to national self-determination and an imperialist attack on an oppressed nation. The United States places itself and its bloodhound Israel above all international laws and norms – it brazenly interferes in the internal affairs of countries to serve its own interests. We do not forget that even at this very moment, Israel is carrying out the most blatant genocide in Gaza with the consent of its American master. We will not forget what they have done to the Iranian people in order to further their goals of crushing the national liberation struggle of the entire region. Either we condemn all imperialist aggression, whether it is aimed at Ukraine, Kurdistan, Venezuela, Palestine or Iran, or we take the side of the imperialists by justifying their crimes against the peoples of the world.
By strangling Iran, whose economic development has been subordinated to its interests by foreign imperialism, with its sanctions, it has driven the country’s economy into an ever deeper crisis, causing great suffering to its people. Taking advantage of the protests that arose from this, the United States and its lackey Israel incited unrest in the country to cause instability and carry out a change of power in the country to serve their own interests, especially to weaken the anti-imperialist resistance in the region, which Iran supports due to the anti-Yankee sentiment of its people. We see how women’s rights are being used to justify aggression against Iran. We anti-imperialist and revolutionary women say – no way! The Iranian people themselves will liberate themselves, it is not a burden for the white man. What have the Yankees and Israel brought to Iranian women? Only destruction and death, for example by killing more than 150 people in an attack on a girls’ school.
Imperialism is reaction across the line and it maintains patriarchy in one way or another. A change of power in Iran would not advance the aspirations of the Iranian people and, as a part of it, its women of the people. Instead, it would advance the plans of US imperialism in the Middle East and affect the dynamics of the struggle against imperialism in the entire region, including the Palestinian national resistance. The plans of US imperialism are not about women’s rights or the freedom of the Iranian people – they are about the implementation of the narrow interests of the US imperialist monopoly bourgeoisie. For this reason, we must oppose aggression against Iran and all attempts to destabilize the country. We cannot allow US imperialism and Israel to advance their plans. We defend the unity of the Iranian nation in the face of imperialist aggression and support its right to resist the aggressor. The women of the people of Iran will liberate their country from imperialism, all reaction, and with it also patriarchy, relying on their own strength.
Imperialism develops decrepit capitalism in the oppressed nations for the benefit of its few monopoly bourgeois. For the women of the people, this means enormous suffering. Imperialism maintains feudal relations of subordination in the oppressed nations, which mean the complete subordination of women to the guardianship of men. The women of the people, in addition to their heavy toil, bear the burden of housework, taking care of children and the elderly. They toil to secure a better future for their children, only to see them die from the bullets of the military police in the “war on drugs” or from the bombs of the occupier. In imperialist and anti-people wars, violence against women is used as a weapon against oppressed peoples and nations. Imperialism drives the women of the oppressed nations into prostitution to satisfy the desires of men and into the most humiliating relationships of personal subjugation.
However, women are not just victims. All over the world they are fighting and resisting this misery. Today, women are playing a significant role in the revolutions led by communist parties in Peru, India, Turkey and the Philippines, as well as in other communist-led struggles, such as the people’s struggles in Brazil. These women are changing the world with weapons, building a new power that will allow the crushing of patriarchy. Revolutionary women’s movements have made it possible for these women to participate in the revolution on an equal footing with their male counterparts by opposing the reactionary theory of “feminine nature”, politicizing women and taking into account the specific obstacles that women face in participating in political activity.
Today we want to show our special support to our comrades in India, where the old state has declared this month as the deadline for crushing the decades-long revolution. To achieve this goal, this “world’s largest democracy” has launched a genocidal military campaign, Operation Kagaar, which involves terrorizing the masses in rural India, sexual violence against women and massacres. In the cities, activists defending the rights of the people are branded as Naxalites, persecuted and tortured. Communists are accused of being terrorists, even though they are the ones who have changed the face of rural India for the good of the people.
Finland is not innocent: Finland’s Petteri Orpo recently had dinner with India’s genocidal Prime Minister Narendra Modi, enthusiastically lusting after India’s riches and the opportunities it creates in the form of cheap labor for Finnish imperialism. Finland is also involved in maintaining India’s subordinate position to imperialism. Finland is concerned about the status of women when it comes to justifying imperialist aggression against Iran or Afghanistan, but when it comes to the atrocities committed by the Indian army, with the support of the United States, against indigenous peasant women and communists in India, it is silent! We condemn these actions and show our support for the revolution in India.
Although Finland claims to be a model country of equality, working women here too face double oppression. Women still bear the main responsibility for housework. Freedom to divorce is not realized because women often do not dare to leave even violent relationships for economic reasons and the hardships of single mothers. The police do not follow the law when investigating domestic violence. Women face discrimination in working life. The welfare state, which has brought some relief, is in crisis, because it is based on bribing the Finnish working class by exploiting other nations, and the bourgeoisie is forced to dismantle it at an ever-increasing pace in order to increase its profits. Working women are therefore forced to take care of the elderly, for example, in addition to working. At the same time, the bourgeoisie brings in female workers from oppressed nations who face overexploitation, in order to maintain this supposedly women-friendly welfare state, inciting racism against these women in order to fragment our class. The government’s anti-worker measures particularly hit working women, who often work part-time and on fixed-term contracts, further weakening the position of female workers, for example during pregnancy. The culture of the ruling class is degenerating and regressing, promoting increasingly brutal anti-women customs and perceptions in the name of individual liberation.
All this shows the need for class-conscious organization of women for their demands. We cannot be satisfied with crumbs, we must go further, we must abolish private property, which maintains patriarchy, and build socialism, which will finally allow the removal of the burden of housework and the emancipation of women, becoming equal to men of their class. The fight against imperialism is our common fight, for it is precisely imperialist bribery that maintains the power of the bourgeoisie in Finland. We must oppose the maintenance of the “welfare state” with the blood of our sisters of oppressed nations. We revolutionary women in Finland cannot be content with being parasites – for this reason let us support the fact that all the imperialists’ plans will be crushed!
The Yankees will not bring liberation ! Down with imperialist aggression!
Unleash women’s revolutionary fury against imperialism and patriarchy!
Anti-imperialists of the world, unite!
