Italy – PLDP: ‘INDIA CAMPAIGN’ IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW DEMOCRACY REVOLUTION  

We hereby share a translation that we received of an article published by Per la Democrazia Popolare (PLDP) on May 25.

The Collectives for People’s Democracy in North-East Italy, on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Comrade Basavaraj, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), in accordance with the recent appeal by the International Anti-Imperialist League (https://redherald.org/2026/05/24/the-ail-calls-anti-imperialists-to-stand-in-solidarity-with-the-indian-people/) which will be translated and circulated in the coming days, have launched the Solidarity Campaign with the New Democracy Revolution in India. 

In this initial phase, they have brought the message of the Indian revolution and the recent AIL World Congress to various meetings of groups mobilizing in support of Palestine, and have begun by displaying a poster commemorating the martyrdom of the Comrade. 

Over the coming months, this campaign will be expanded through the involvement of other collectives of PLDP, the distribution of a dossier on the Indian revolution, the production of various types of posters, the display of banners, the organization of public meetings, and the launch of a proposal for a Solidarity Committee with Oppressed Peoples and New Democracy Revolutions, with an invitation extended to all anti-imperialist groups.
