Once again, imperialist forces will rear their ugly heads and gather at the yearly G7 summit that will be held in Évian-les-Bains, France. As they attempt to subject the peoples of the world to their domination, exploitation and murderous aggression, they are facing the growing resistance of the peoples of the world. In response to this summit a mass demonstration has been called in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Group of Seven, or G7, gathers the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower and six of the richest imperialist powers operating within the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and consists of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and Italy. Each year they gather to discuss and plan economic, political and military strategy, sharpening their blades for yet another repartition of the world.

But who are the participants of this summit?

Japan

War crimes, torture, human experimentation and sexual slavery are some of the crimes that come to mind when recounting the imperialist history of Japan and the onslaught on the Asian population in its campaigns of plunder and colonization.

  • Colonizer of Eastern Asia, controlling at one point Korea, large parts of China and most of South-Eastern Asia. Carrying out unspeakable crimes on the peoples of the colonies, including murder, torture, rape and human experimentation.
  • Systematic trafficker and rapist of women, using its own wars or colonies as vehicles of human trafficking, kidnapping women to be used as so-called “comfort women”, a despicable word obscuring the violence and rape these women were subjected to.
  • Architect of massacres, most notably the Rape of Nanjing, where Japan razed, murdered and raped entire villages without remorse on their march through China. However the people of China, fueled with rage and fire in front of imperialism, carried out the war of national liberation waged by the united front and carried to victory by the CCP, leading afterwards successfully the revolution in China, a historic milestone for the Peoples of the world.
  • Still today is one of the biggest imperialist exploiters of the world, having around 2,1 trillion USD invested in foreign countries. With a hand in the pocket of most exploited countries, be it the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Brazil, Singapore or Thailand, all of which Japan has hundreds of millions of dollars invested in.

Unspeakable crimes have been carried out by Japan in the name of profit and plunder, and Japan have by no means laid their imperial ambitions to rest. In this context, Japan, led by Sanae Takaichi, will participate in the G7 Summit, so as it grows nearer, any democratic, progressive and anti-imperialist organization or individual will heed the call and take to the streets against the G7 summit.

We will continue to update on any new information regarding the G7 summit and the upcoming demonstration.
