On June 9th, an anti-imperialist event was carried out by the National Executive of Pedagogy Students (ExNEPE). More than 200 people participated, including students, peasants organized in the League of the Poor Peasants (LCP), the Anti-imperialist League (AIL), democratic teachers and anti-imperialists from Europe and Africa, in addition to the participation of the cultural attaché of the Iranian Embassy, Sheik Ali Reza Mirjalili, A Nova Democracia reports.
During the event, the heroic National Resistance of the peoples of Iran, Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen was upheld, highlighting that the struggle of the peoples against imperialism is the same “from Latin America to Asia”. Additionally, the resistance of the Iranian people and its relation with the struggle of the Brazilian students in defense of a public, free and scientific education was raised.
During the event, solidarity was shown with the anti-imperialist activists of the Revolutionary Student Commission of Kenya (RSC-Kenya), imprisoned for the protests against the Africa Forward Summit carried out by French imperialism in Nairobi.

This event took place amidst an increase of the student struggle in Brazil, where ExNEPE, together with other organizations, carried out combative occupations in the University of São Paulo. During these occupations several military police officers and security guards were injured. In the upcoming month, the 43rd National Meeting of Pedagogy Students will take place in the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA), and will have the participation of a delegation of Iranian Students. The main topic will be the “Yankee imperialist aggression in Latin America and the intervention of the World Bank in the Brazilian education: the role of pedagogy, university degrees, students and teachers in the defense of the public, free and scientific university”.
