On June 16, Yankee imperialism has made public the signing of an agreement with Bolivia to increase the Yankee military intervention in the country. This agreement, similar to others signed with different puppet governments in Latin America, is more proof of the development of the policies of imperialist dominance in the continent.
Up to 20 millions of dollars will be invested in programs of preparation and specialized training, as well as military intervention for the “technical cooperation” to increase the operative capacities of the repressive forces of Bolivia in matter of criminal investigation and struggle against supposed criminal organizations.
However, US imperialism has already shown their true intentions after linking the combative and just protests of the Bolivian People, which has put the president against the wall and are demanding his resignation, citing “drug trafficking and transnational crime” in a statement by the Anti-Cartel Coalition of the Americas, better known as Shield of the Americas.
Since its creation in March, this initiative has been used by US imperialism to carry out direct military intervention in several Latin American countries under the pretext of the “war on drug trafficking,” in an attempt to impose its dominance. Recently, a new military intervention has taken place in Venezuela—the second largest this year following the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro. According to recent statements by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, similar operations are expected in other countries such as Ecuador and Guatemala.
