The Yankee imperialist war of aggression on Iran continues. The United States launched, for a third consecutive night, military attacks against Iran late on Monday, expanding its criminal air campaign. The latter keeps resisting against these renewed violations of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Yankee imperialism launched a new wave of attacks hours before reimposing the naval blockade of Iranian ports. US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed that the attacks were on “military targets across Iran”. Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Tehran stated that the Yankees claims that the US attacks focused exclusively on military targets overlooking the Strait of Hormuz, was false. The correspondent also reports that ports, economic infrastructure and civilian facilities were among the locations hit.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a new wave of retaliations. The IRGC stated that naval forces launched missiles and drones against the Juffair military base, targeting weapons storage facilities, a satellite communications center and residential buildings used by US personnel.

Moreover, two large oil tankers have been disabled in the Strait of Hormuz after ignoring warnings issued by the Iranian maritime authorities. A third tanker was hit by a missile. These actions are again affecting the oil prices, which have surged to their highest level in a month. Brent crude, the primary international benchmark, rose as much as 3.8 percent on Tuesday, extending a 9.6 percent gain from the previous day. Brent futures for September delivery stood at $85.92 a barrel as of 08:00 GMT- the highest since June 15th.

Iran continues its firm defense of its national sovereignty. Lawmakers introduced a bill to be discussed during the upcoming days, reaffirming the Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. The document states that “said vessels flying a US or Israeli flag would be barred from passage, in addition to military, intelligence or other “hostile” vessels belonging to countries or individuals who act against the ‘axis of resistance’.”
