Brazil – Servir ao Povo: Warning Note Regarding the Activities of Police Officers Disguised as “Communists” and “Maoists”
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a note by Servir ao Povo (Serve the People in Portuguese) published on August 12.
We urge our readers to denounce and condemn all anti-communist provocative activities by the informants, and the operations carried out by secret police agents against popular and revolutionary forces. Like the liquidationist traitor Gopal Mishra in India, these are police elements, a fifth column of reaction within the workers’ and popular movement, disguised as “communists” and “Maoists,” who “red-tag” initiatives of mass movements and organizations, linking them to underground organizations, with the hidden objective of facilitating police intelligence work and providing information to the class enemy. As the CPI (Maoist) declares about these undercover police agents: “they must be exposed and isolated.”1
This practice, fifth-columnism, has become evident throughout the world and will grow even more with the new campaign of the cannibal Trump against communism. We, from the blog Servir ao Povo, were most recently the target of this slanderous denunciation in the form of “public polemic”.
In a post on a blog called “two-line struggle” (!!!???), a certain “comrade vitor” from a supposed “Maoist communist committee” accuses us of being “unofficial spokespeople” for the Communist Party of Brazil – P.C.B., that is, a de facto spokesperson, but disguised. As is known, the P.C.B. is an anti-revisionist and clandestine communist party. This is a sneaky and police-like attempt to link us to an illegal and clandestine organization, an attempt to “red-tagged us” like the police practice of targeting renegades, undercover agents, but recognized and denounced by the CPI (Maoist) as Gopal.
This is a very serious, extremely serious, grave accusation that could have extreme consequences for our blog. What hidden objective have the proponents of this accusation, this false denunciation, pursuing? Why do they engage in provocations of this kind if they were, in fact, a “Maoist” organization? They are, rather, a political organization in the style of the one founded by Chang Kuo-tao during the Long March, moments before openly switching to the counter-revolutionary camp in China, identifying themselves as agents of the Kuomintang’s intelligence service.
We are compelled to publicly refute this denunciatory lie. Our blog is an initiative to promote and popularize contemporary Marxism and proletarian revolutionary struggles in Brazil and throughout the world. We are not spokespeople for anything, much less official or unofficial representatives of any legal or underground political organization.
We reject the attempt by the political police to link public, mass, and legal organizations or initiatives to underground, illegal, and secret organizations, using for this purpose a lowly – unofficial – police agent, a rat, trash, vermin, whether or not paid by the old Brazilian State, which is historically genocidal. We brand with fire and iron the fascist institutions that manipulate rotten elements like this “comrade vitor” and this “committee,” as well as those who lend themselves to being puppies of the political police.

1In the publication “Expose, Reject, and Defeat the Renegade Liquidationist Clique of Gopal Mishra and Prashant Rahi!”, the Nazariya Magazine popularized a statement from the CPI (Maoist) regarding Gopal Mishra. We recommend reading it; it is published on our blog [Translator’s note: Originally published in English by the Nazariya Magazine here: https://nazariyamagazine.wordpress.com/2026/07/01/expose-reject-and-defeat-the-renegade-liquidationist-clique-of-gopal-mishra-and-prashant-rahi/]. Besides defending Balraj and his revisionist, liquidationist, and opportunist line, Gopal was denounced for “red-tagging of revolutionary organisations” (that is, implicitly accusing them of being linked to the CPI (Maoist)), “built parallel organisations in some universities where revolutionary organisations do not exist, in order to divert students sympathetic to the politics of MLM and NDR towards themselves.” The CPI (Maoist) expelled Gopal and publicly denounced his actions.
