Ireland: Tens of Thousands Take to the Streets of Dublin to Protest Trump State Visit

On September 12, several political organizations, trade unions and individuals took to the streets of Dublin to protest the State visit of Donald Trump. Organizers estimated the number of participants reaching upwards of 25,000 people, highlighting the people’s opposition to the exploitation by Yankee imperialism of Ireland.

Among the participating organizations was Anti-imperialist Action (AIA), who led a revolutionary block, carrying a banner reading “Fight imperialism. Trump not welcome!”, and chanting slogans like “Tiocfaidh ár lá” (“Our day will come”). In a report on their X account, AIA denounces the so-called “left-wing” political parties’ attempts at “diluting the anti-imperialist response to Trump’s presence in Dublin.” During the demonstration, AIA went on to burn a US flag and set of fireworks.
