Bolivia – Guardias Rojos: Call for Students to Mobilize

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a call by the Guardias Rojos (Red Guards) of Bolivia on their Instagram account on September 29.

A few days ago, the student mobilization in Sucre gave us a clear example that we university students are neither asleep nor apolitical.

The rise in public transportation fares – due to the diesel price hike being imposed on us by this impoverishing regime of Rodrigo Paz and Lara – is driving us university students to take to the streets to protest.

The protest in Sucre is an example of how we university students must take to the streets to demand social and popular change, because the rise in public transportation fares directly affects our studies and our families.

We must not allow this government to continue imposing its disastrous policies proposed by the IMF and the World Bank, which only impose economic policies that subjugate our countries.

It is time for us to rise up from within the university; all FULs must mobilize and fight.
