Brazil – AND: Bolsonaro’s Corruption and the Treason of His Supporters

A Nova Democracia (AND) has reported on Flavio Bolsonaro, one of the candidates in the upcoming second round of the electoral farce on October 25, who is being investigated for connections to a money laundering case. This comes after years of selective persecution against his opponent, Lula.

Reports have shown intimate links between Bolsonaro and the lawyer Willer Tomaz, a central figure in investigations of defrauding the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), corruption involving a gambling company and more, as well as being known for defending big landlords who try to murder peasants.

The two did not only share a series of vacations, but also, or at least for some time, shared a bank account linked to an offshore company that is also under investigation for bribery and human trafficking. The links between the two also extend to the financing of the propaganda movie for Bolsonaro’s father, on which AND reported.

Meanwhile, the supporters of the corrupt candidate have been observed demanding the US use nuclear weapons against Brazil, as AND reported. During a rally called for and attended by Bolsonaro, his supporters carried US and Israeli flags as well as an inflatable missile with “Trump nuke Brazil” written on it in English.

While Bolsonaro denounced them as supposed “infiltrators,” he himself has also asked for an increase in Yankee intervention in Latin America, and AND reported on his plans to partake in the “Shield of America”. At the same time he has called several organizations in Brazil “terrorist,” attempting to justify potential intervention.
