On October 24, activists from the International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) – Section Brazil participated in a demonstration on Paulista Avenue in São Paulo. A Nova Democracia (AND) reports that the protesters were “protesting against Yankee interference and the extreme right offensive in Brazil,” and that solidarity was shown with the ongoing protests of the youth in France.

On November 1, another demonstration was carried out in São Paulo, where hundreds gathered in a march against indigenous genocide. The demonstration was called for by indigenous organizations, the Flecha Cultural Collective and the AIL Brazil Section, and gathered students, workers, indigenous people, and members of popular organizations in the Roosevelt Square, where denouncements were made of the recent threats against indigenous people, such as the threat of poisoning the water supply in the Sassoró village in Mato Grosso do Sul, and intimidation against Terena communities.

AND reports that despite attempts by the National Union of Students (UNE) to muzzle the interventions of other groups by refusing to lower the volume on the stage, AIL members and indigenous people carried out their speeches by the use of megaphones.

After burning Yankee and Zionist flags, the AIL called for the mobilization to form a march, which gathered hundreds of protesters in march, ending at the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), chanting slogans against the far right and in defense of indigenous peoples. At the end, AIL called for a new demonstration on Sunday, November 8, at 4 p.m., with the gathering point at MASP.

On October 28, dozens of activists carried out a demonstration in São Paulo against Yankee interference in Brazil and police violence. A banner of the AIL was displayed, carrying the slogan “Combat the extreme right and imperialism through action,” with flags of the League of the Poor Peasants, AIL and the Fletcha Cultural Collective also being present. AND reports that hundreds of copies of the A Nova Democracia newspaper was also distributed.

On October 31, democrats and progressives had gathered in Afonso Pena Square in the center of São José dos Campos in São Paulo, protesting against the murders, threats, and attacks faced by indigenous peoples in different regions of Brazil, as well as in defense of the Agrarian Revolution and the struggle for land.

On November 1, a rally was carried out in downtown Manaus, in defense of indigenous people who AND reports “continue to denounce the attacks following the electoral defeat of the extreme right.” After the gathering, with chants and speeches in the Praça da Matriz (Main Square), the demonstration continued to Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, where slogans and songs celebrating indigenous struggles throughout Brazil were chanted. AIL flags were observed during the demonstration.

On October 20, in honor of the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood, the Support Committee of AND carried out a panel discussion under the title “3 Years Since the Al-Aqsa Flood: The Anti-Imperialist Struggles Underway in the World Today!” at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp).

The activity brought together about 50 people during the continental campaign called by the AIL against the intensification of Yankee imperialist intervention in Latin America. The panel consisted of a a Palestinian activist from the Campinas Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (CCSPP), a member of the Editorial Board of the AND, a popular lawyer and coordinator of the Popular Organization (OPA) in São Paulo, as well as a representative of the AIL.

During the panel discussion, the history of the occupation of Palestine was presented, and with it the history of the struggle of the Palestinian people, and reflections were made on the lessons of the Al-Aqsa Flood.
