Around 200 people marched from Candelária to Cinelândia in Rio de Janeiro in defense of the struggle for land and for the demarcation of indigenous lands on November 4.
Indigenous leaders and supporters denounced attacks on native peoples, demanded an end to the temporal framework, and defended the struggle for land.
The demonstration’s central demand was the completion of the demarcation of 73 Indigenous Lands, in addition to the end of the temporal framework. This demonstration comes amid violence against the indigenous and other peasants struggle, as we recently reported.
The International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) – Section Brazil and other popular organizations joined the mobilization. Indigenous leaders and representatives of popular movements gave speeches.
