
India: Maoist Guerrillas Injure Two Paramilitaries

Indian local media have reported that two paramilitaries of the CRPF’s elite CoBRA unit were critically injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Maoists in the Digha area of Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Friday afternoon.
The paramilitaries were carrying out a searching and combing operation when they go surprised by the IED. They were evacuated from the site and airlifted to Ranchi for urgent medical treatment.
Indian local media highlight the persistent Maoist presence in Jharkhand. The Maoist guerrillas’ operations are quite usual in the area.
